Roles

The roles of His Majesty’s Commission of Lieutenancy for the City of London are:

• As His Majesty’s representatives within the City of London, to provide representation on His behalf at suitable occasions such as parades, royal visits, and other events.
• To ensure the visibility of, raise the awareness of and promote the understanding of today’s successor to the Militia, the Reserves Forces, so that they remain relevant, capable and usable in order to deliver operational capability as part of the Whole Force.
• To raise the awareness of and promote the understanding of the various Cadet organisations so that their parent organisations are able to connect with the nation in order to develop a sense of citizenship and contribute positively to society.
